Chill Pill

Chill Pill is a mobile physics-based arcade game that I developed in my free time during the UKs national lockdown.

Like many of my projects it was developed in the Unity game engine and programmed in C#. It was built for the Android operating system and is available on the Google Play App Store. The game started as me testing things out in Unity and I added mechanics and features from there, that explains why the theme is bizarre and abstract.

The game play consists of the player flicking the screen in order to launch a pill into a goal (which is just a box). It consists of four different game modes which are:

  1. Classic: Starts with easy levels and gradually progresses to include more difficult obstacles, no time limit or fail conditions. Has a clear end level but the player can carry on if they desire.
  2. Free play: Can be used as a form of practice as it is a level endlessly repeated, has 4 different difficulties which each relate to the level that is endlessly repeated, no time limit or fail conditions.
  3. Time trial: The goal is to get as far as possible in the 60 seconds provided, starts from the easiest level and ends when the time is up. Doesn’t have any fail conditions.
  4. Hardcore: The same levels as classic with a clear end point and no time limit, however if one of the shots misses the game ends, it’s very unforgiving.

The game can be downloaded or viewed from the Google Play App Store by clicking here.
